We were once the envy of the world, built on the initiative and ambition of men, to create a better life for their offspring, through toil, sweat and perseverance.
Now, a portion of our society sits with a begging bowl and a chip on their shoulders, moaning that others, not sitting on their backside, should pick up the tab of their existence”.
I am told by some that I had it easier, like shit I did, 12 hour shifts were the norm, splits sometimes 3am-9am, 3pm-9pm, not seeing family for weeks at a time, worrying every fortnight that there would be enough in the pay packet to actually put a little aside, not being able to afford car insurance, worrying about electricity costs, no different to the journey many are now on.
We cared for others earlier, Whole town knew each others but now totally strangers around us, speak unknown languages.
Worshiped one GOD, Built churches, donated and supported, walked to church, met many once a week, kept close bond with all, Now same magnificent churches are empty, sold and converted as hotels and motels. Prayed whole family together at night or before dinner. All our elders were with us at home, children care for them, now they are sent to aged care, like a disposable objects. We have no time visit them once a month, who raised us, cared and sacrificed for us.
Now DOG replaced GOD, Take it to walk early morning and evening, spending on it more than oneself or our children, special beds, home, toys and food. Spend more time and money.
Politicians and law makers making laws to break bond and family, funding and encouraging single parents, many children grow without knowing other parent. Same, Gay and lesbian are promoted more than normal family,
We elect representatives who change as soon as they elect, or come to power and make powerless those who elected them. There is no scrutiny nor accountability on them, they make law in support of them, as we see same today, they ignore majority and pamper few who are burdon on others.
So What went wrong, What else we will see in our life time.
